Time has been ticking, and unfortunately blogs do not post themselves...
So, apart from rescuing a little old chest of drawers from a sad,
dusty and brown existence
dusty and brown existence
the interior sprucing-uppings around here have been somewhat minimal...
Ok, well apart from a new lamp shade in the corner,
a leaning ladder shelf thing for the kitchen,
and a couple of other bits and pieces attacked with paint!
What I did want to did want to share today is these little beauties
which I have sitting all proudly on a shelf.
I think I can safely say that I have my dad to blame
for my obsession with old cameras that weigh a ton!
They just don't make anything like them these days...
Real solid metal levers and buttons that click, things that go ka-klunk...
and don't even need a battery to work!
This is very much an edited down collection of old beauties
since I had to abandon about 10 others
due to moving around the world twice in 18 months...
As I said before, they do happen to each weigh about a ton!
Unfortunately my favorite film went out of existence about 10 years ago
when Agfa stopped all production.
Then Ilford, then even Polaroid for a while until it kind of got rescued.
The scary thing is that if even the biggest of mass production
film companies - Kodak- can go bankrupt
then it may not be long before my old cameras really will be nothing more
than beautiful paper weights...
Oh well at least they are still beautiful and worth holding on to
if not just for sitting on a shelf and admiring now and then.
